Hi people :)

These forums are getting quiet! :( C'mon - we need to liven them up a bit. So, I'll ask a few questions to get some more chit-chat going :)

Anyone been on holiday yet this summer? Was it nice? If it was sunny, don't bother telling me, because I'm on my hols in Scotland at the moment, and all I can see is rain  .

And, if you haven't been away, have you ventured out that front door, and away from the computer recently? Scary thought I know :)

Well - its late/early, and that's about all I can come up with for now... Hope it has inspired you :S . It gets so boring checking the forums and finding no new posts!

Unfortunately, I have yet to be able to take a vacation. Working forty hours a week, working out, several web projects, and attempting to have a life have all kept me from successfully getting away ;) I was fortunate enough to get a day off this week after working ninety-five hours in the last two weeks. It'll be cool.

And venturing away from the computer? You have got to be kidding me. I could hardly the day without power I had earlier this week!! Between working with computers at work, internet projects, and helping friends with their computer problems, who has time NOT to use their computer

Hey Craig!
Good for you..someone should be on holiday! I would love to be in Scotland right now :D In fact....I would love to be anywhere that it was raining right now, I think it's very romantic!

Hey atomaka....I'm a former Michigander....where the heck is Chelsea? I'm from Fenton. You know what it's like to see the rain...I miss watching the thunderstorms over the lake in our backyard!

Holiday for myself....well, going to get a little one. Tomorrow is my final exam for my Statistics class (should be studying right now  ) After that I'm going to take a well-deserved 4 day weekend in San Diego, California (a whole whopping 2 hour drive away from here), but it'll be a blast just hanging out with friends, going to the beach, cooking out with the family and perhaps tipping back a Bass (you English lads got that beer thing all figured out) or a jack & coke!

Hope the rest of the Kualo family is enjoying their summer! :D

Maybe there are few problems except recent downtimes??

I visit the forum [b:1a655b037e]everyday[/b:1a655b037e], yes everyday... I see that, in general, support people answer the questions or requsts very quickly...

There some other reasons maybe...

First, some people are on hoiday....

Second, some people have jobs other than hosting... Ie, me... Moderator or admin in many forums... (I love www.phpalk.com). Also working as project manager in various database management projects...

Third... Not found.

I wasn't telling you all off for not chatting ;)

I just liked the continual chit-chat when I first arrived at Kualo :) I can see that loads of people come here every day... We just need to have conversations going every day too :D

I know what you mean atomaka! I am never away from a computer. So much so that I'm braving using this old 166MHz with 32Mb RAM while I am away from home. It'll make me appreciate my PC all the more :)

Good luck with the statistics exam Christina :) You'll be fine, as long as you keep away from the computer long enough to study for it :) That must've been where I kept going wrong! :(

lol...
I hear you Craig...I'm going to "try" and stay away from the computer!

Got your laptop with you or are you using someone elses computer in Scotland?

I'll be staying where there is a "dial up" connection...ugh! So, I'm thinking I'll probably not touch the keys at all.

I've got other things going on anyway...meetings with admissions at the Art Institute of California and San Diego State University! I'll be busy!

I am so jealous of you over there visiting Scotland! I've been all over the states (including Hawaii) and to the Bahamas and Mexico, but I have never been to Europe. I'm dying to go!

My husband is Greek, much of his family is in Greece - someday we will get to visit. My ancesters are from and supposedly some family are still in Sheffield England (+ Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Poland & Russia - seems I'm a bit of a mutt!) but mostly English from what I've been told.

Hey Christina. Chelsea is just a small village. It's about a ten mile drive from Ann Arbor, which is probably a much better landmark to use, especially for any Michigander ;) And quit your complaining about dial-up! I have to use it every day, hehe.

Oh ok....I know where you are. My grandmother lives in Detroit and some of my husbands relatives live in St Claire Shores!

Dial up....oh man, you gotta be kidding me!

I've had either cable or DSL for 4 years now!

Some people have all the luck! I am currently using someone else's PC, and I'm not even on a 56K dialup. I'm using 33.6 :(

Well - I suppose visiting Scotland is not such a big thing for me, considering I live in the UK. Now visiting America - there's something I would like to do more often :D

33.6?? Pfft. I get 26.4 max, and sometimes even 21.6. It's really crappy. I wish we had the chance for cable, because I garuntee I would have it.

I'm on dialup too  I have to try and make 34 hours last through Sept 7 :?

Craig!! Don't you dare complain about rain!!!!!! We haven't had any for over a year

ooh guys....I'm so sorry! You really need to look into DSL if cable isn't available....

I hate to brag....but I'm getting about 2746 kbps on the download and 105kbps up.

How do you all stand it??? Makes me wonder about my websites now...and how slow they must seem to load for some visitors!

btw....done with my Stats final!!!! yeaaah! I am SO relieved...

In fact, hubby had a jack & coke waiting for me, and a pizza is on the way for celebration!

Craig,

What do you mean rain.... It's glorious Sunshine in Leith at the moment (that'll scare some folk who know about one of Edinburgh's most ummm, how to put it, [i:85051e3e6e]colourful[/i:85051e3e6e] areas  )

Fair enough there has been a bit of what us Scot's would call drizzle the last few days :D :D :D

Whereabouts in Scotland are you?

Have a great holiday,

Graeme

Well - it was quite nice here in St.Andrews today too :) Not a drop of rain anyway. Navin - feel free to come over to the UK and take some of our rain. We could so with a drop or two less at the moment.

Graeme - if thats what you scots call drizzle - what does it take for you to use the term 'tipping it down'?

Christina - well done on the exam :) Every now and then, an exam can go well :D
