First i do not want to ask in general section since this topic here is a reeller issue.
I need to ask some Qs about the issue...
First of all, if you think this is better, i believe it is better. New server chip is very good, hope it will be more stable.
This is my question:
What i see is we as resellers will modify our nameserver IP numbers since we modify our data center... Right?
So this will probably lead to a bounce in up-to-date databases, i meanloss. Or in other words... Assuming you moved everything in August 7th, we requested our registrarto modify nameserver... They changed on August 8th... It takes 2 days to propogate... Then we lost 3 days DB since all accounts will have resolved macbeth in these 3 days...
Solution
Is it possible to create for all accounts including subdomains a temprorarylink to new server such that
http://www.phptalk.com or http://talk.phptalk.com resolves to http://newservername.dnsaction.com/~phptalkusername etc.
This will automatically fixes the problem....
If i misunderstand something, sorry.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
