I don't know if any of you all are fans - but I'm sooo bummed that TechTV has been purchased by Comcast.

They're new version is called G4TechTV. Its mostly for gamers - so if you're into that you're set.

They've dropped one of my favorite shows - "Call for Help", but fortunately my other favorite "The Screen Savers" is still on.

It's not so much that the channel has gone away that bothers me, because 6 years ago it used to be ZDTV (which I watched for the 4 years that it was on also), everything changes right?

The bummer about the whole thing was the techtv.com website! They had awesome amounts of information and it's all gone! :(

I'm hoping that they're smart enough to gather all those archives and make them available to the masses....you aught to see the forums at G4, Leoville, etc - people are pissed off!

So....anybody else here a TechTV groupie?

Don't think we get it over here...

Why not send them a letter / email with your concerns? You never know they may just listen...

I agree with Christina that I wish it wasn't leaving, but TechTV also hadn't been doing so well lately. For this reason, many of the great personalities that have appeared on the channel for years left (Michaela, Sumi, and others).

Like Christina, I have been watching the channel since it first debuted as ZDTV, and am especially sad to see Leo go, as well as the peopple above. I wish that Comcast would at least archive all of the great articles and tips from the old TechTV.com.

LOL.....I don't have to. Hundreds of people are voicing their concerns all over their bb.

But I actually already did. :)

Even though the programming wasn't shown in England - you could have benefited from their website. Now I'm starting to wonder....have I never shared it here? :(

I just knew there had to be fans here too!

Leo was my favorite as well. He does a radio show every Saturday and Sunday at noon on KFI in Los Angeles. If you're not in the area you can listen on they have a live stream from their website at http://www.kfi640.com/interactive/streaming.html
And also apparently has archived (minus the commercials and news) on his own website at http://leo.typepad.com/radio/radio/index.html , one week after the show airs.

But I'm sure its not the same as watching on TV. :(

I saw somewhere on those crazy gaming boards at G4 someone actually from G4 said there would be an archive of techtv.com .....it remains to be seen as to how much/how well it will be done.

Thanks for the tip on the show, Christina. I knew that he had one, but wasn't aware that I could listen online.

I heard rumors of Leo starting a new site (leoville.tv) to "...recreate the good parts of TechTV..." and I'm interested to see what comes of that.

There is a mention of Leoville TV on his website (www.leoville.com), but I honestly thought that meant a real tv show. I'll have to read a little more :)

DAMN....I'm sorry. You know, I remember who I was talking to - it was Graeme!

If they bring back the archives I'll be sure to mention it!

You might be right, he may be talking about an actual TV show. We'll just have to wait and see what he has in mind...

Christina,

It looks like G4 is slowly but surely bringing back the TechTV archives.
http://www.g4tv.com/feature.aspx?article_key=729

On the main page, it says "Where's the Archive?" Then it says "The past three months are available now. The entire archive is coming soon!"

Yeah. I had noticed that. But if you actually go and look - there are about 12 articles posted from various TechTV shows. If they had just the last month of say - The Screen Savers - there would have been more than 12 articles.

They suck. :banghead: :banghead:

Sorry to hear that. We got the show here. I'm not really interested in all that gaming crap (sorry if you are, lol).

I did notice the last show I watched that is was predominantly about racing games.

LOL....no, I'm not a gamer (only Soul Calibur II - I kick butt in that one).

:)
