people also get mad at me when I call the start menu button the Apple Button, they don't like that. I tell them when apple did it first, and windows follows, apple gets credit.

If I recall correctly Microsoft wanted to put the start menu in the top left hand corner of the screen until SGI complained that they were ripping off their toolchest.

Yet another piece of uselss information saved in my brain :)

PS I think the toolchest appeared around 1992

People blame microsoft for copying the idea of gui/mouse from apple... its interesting that apple neither invented nor pioneered their use...although apple did commericialize the use of the GUI, IBM beat them in the mouse race.

The mouse was nvented by Douglas Engelbart of Stanford Research Center in 1963, and pioneered by Xerox in the 1970s. The first commercially available mouse was for the IBM PC in 1982 by Mouse Systems.

The first GUI system was in the Xerox Star 8010, developed by Xerox in 1981, featured the mouse and a desktop with icons. This was the first computer with a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI was first developed by Xerox in 1973 for Alto, an experimental predecessor to the Xerox Star.

I think it's hilarious. If I had a dollar for every time I had to use those 3 keys together I'd be richer than Bill himself. LOL
