A few questions

Ok, I know some of these are in your FAQ's but would prefer the personal touch so could you please answer and provide as much detail as possible;

1. Who provides your servers and where are they located? ie eservers.biz
2. How many servers do you currently have and are you planning to get any more with different control panels with them ie plesk, ensim ?
3. Is there any limit to the amount of domains I can host?
Some resellers give generous space/bandwidth then restrict you to something like 10 domains.
4. Do you have any trouble running any cgi scripts or do they all work, reason for asking is on my current host some work and some don't even when the path is the same.
5. Will I be able to set up subdomains and will those sites get full cpanel access? ie assuming I go with you I will be setting my account up as DDUKHosting. I would like to offer space to those without domains as a subdomain of mine such as www.whatever.DDUKHosting.com but want to make sure that they can have full cpanel control to www.whatever.DDUKHosting.com as they would a normal domain account.
6. Is SMTP enabled at all?
7. What are your full server specs?
8. How many people do you employ?
9. How old are you?
10. What is your server uptime? any chance of seeing the log?
11. Do you have WAP capabilities on your server?
12. Do you support JSP?
13. Do you support ASP in any form?
14. What is your bandwidth carriers ie cogent, verio?
15. How many customers do you actually have, and can you provide some random sites for me to check out?
16. I would like to use my own nameservers would this be a problem and what cost would be involved?
17. Do I get any client IPs if not what are charges for those?
18. What are bandwidth overcharges?
19. What are disk space overcharges?
20. When and if the need arises would you be able to provide a managed dedicated server?
21. The ports cpanel uses are blocked and so I need to access WHM via a proxy;
http://www.safeproxy.org/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi
With some hosts WHM does not work correctly through this and with others it does would you set my account up on a 7 day trial (to allow for DNS) so that i can test it to make sure it works?

Must say I am very impressed with your support times.

I, as a customer of Kulao, suggest you to look at www.kualo.com site in detail.

You will get answers of almost all questions in kualo.com (except some, like "How old are you"). It would be better, then, to ask questions here that there is no related answer or information on the site.

Hi there,

I am afraid that I do not know the answers to all these questions, so I will wait for Jo to post all of the answers here for you, rather than leave gaps. I have tested the nph-proxy for you with WHM, and it seems to work fine.

As CK said, there is a lot of information to be found on the Kualo site. However, you might also want to browse through the Knowledge Base http://helpdesk.kualo.com/kb.cgi.

Hope that this helps. Usually, if you have any urgent questions, post them at the helpdesk, as that is always staffed. We do try to check the forums as often as possible, but the response time will be slower.

Hope that this helps

I know there is a new server in the USA (Hamlet), plus the other USA one (MacBeth), and the one in the U.K. and now they're installing another for semi-dedicated hosted.

I was the first person on it

I also know that SMTP is allowed.

Lets see, i also think you can host unlimited domains (just don't go over on space/bandwidth.

Like I said I know they can be found on your site but I would prefer the personal touch and have the questions answered here, that way I can always refer back to them if need be as FAQ's can always be changed.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying. For the fastest response please always use the helpdesk.

I have answered your questions below:

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]1. Who provides your servers and where are they located? ie eservers.biz[/quote:7b84c650eb]

The server you'll be on is in our LayerOne datacenter in Miami.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]2. How many servers do you currently have and are you planning to get any more with different control panels with them ie plesk, ensim ?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

We currently have 3 shared servers and 1 semi-dedicated. In the future we plan to have new servers and more control panels available, yes.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]3. Is there any limit to the amount of domains I can host?
Some resellers give generous space/bandwidth then restrict you to something like 10 domains.[/quote:7b84c650eb]

There is no limit on the number of domains --- you can host as many as your allocation allows.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]4. Do you have any trouble running any cgi scripts or do they all work, reason for asking is on my current host some work and some don't even when the path is the same.[/quote:7b84c650eb]

I haven't come across any cgi script that doesn't ever work on our servers... what kind of script do you have in mind? Make sure none of them are on our banned script list.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]5. Will I be able to set up subdomains and will those sites get full cpanel access? ie assuming I go with you I will be setting my account up as DDUKHosting. I would like to offer space to those without domains as a subdomain of mine such as www.whatever.DDUKHosting.com but want to make sure that they can have full cpanel control to www.whatever.DDUKHosting.com as they would a normal domain account.[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Yup you can --- all you have to do is create an account in WHM called whatever.DDUKHosting.com

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]6. Is SMTP enabled at all?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Yes you will have your personal SMTP servers i.e. mail.yourdomain.com

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]7. What are your full server specs?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

The server you'll be on (Hamlet) is a Pentium 3 @ 1.2GHz with 512mb RAM, upgraded to 1024 when necessary.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]8. How many people do you employ?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Eleven.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]9. How old are you?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

The age of our employees ranges from 18 to 52.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]10. What is your server uptime? any chance of seeing the log?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Hamlet hasn't been down a single day since it was born: 32 days 12 hours http://hamlet.dnsaction.com/sysinfo

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]11. Do you have WAP capabilities on your server?[/quote:7b84c650eb]
Yes

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]12. Do you support JSP?[/quote:7b84c650eb]
Nope

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]13. Do you support ASP in any form?[/quote:7b84c650eb]
Nope

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]14. What is your bandwidth carriers ie cogent, verio?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Hamlet's bandwidth providers are Cogent Co. and Williams Communications.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]15. How many customers do you actually have, and can you provide some random sites for me to check out?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

We have around 150 customers, on both reseller and virtual hosting. Dan (Oz) is on Hamlet --- His URL is in his sig (up there ^^).

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]16. I would like to use my own nameservers would this be a problem and what cost would be involved?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

All our reseller plans come with two personal nameservers (ns1 & ns2.domain.com) and two IP's free of charge.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]17. Do I get any client IPs if not what are charges for those?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Additional IP's cost $10 Setup and $10/mo for 5 IP addresses or $3/mo for 1.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]18. What are bandwidth overcharges?[/quote:7b84c650eb]
Extra 5GB Transfer costs $10/mo

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]19. What are disk space overcharges?[/quote:7b84c650eb]
An extra 500MB chunk of space costs $5/mo

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]20. When and if the need arises would you be able to provide a managed dedicated server?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Yes we would.

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]21. The ports cpanel uses are blocked and so I need to access WHM via a proxy;
http://www.safeproxy.org/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi
With some hosts WHM does not work correctly through this and with others it does would you set my account up on a 7 day trial (to allow for DNS) so that i can test it to make sure it works?[/quote:7b84c650eb]

We have a 30 day money-back guarantee if our service doesn't satisfy you

[quote:7b84c650eb="Gandalf1"]Must say I am very impressed with your support times.[/quote:7b84c650eb]

Thanks

Let me know if you have any further questions.
